Frequently asked questions
How much does the game cost?
Guildforge is free. Nothing can be bought for real money at the moment.
What can I play on?
Any modern browser, on a computer or a phone. There is also an Android app (download); the iOS version is on its way.
How do I get started?
Sign up, pick a world and start with the resource buildings. Quests guide you step by step through the first days.
Can I be attacked right away?
No: beginner protection keeps you safe for the first 72 hours. Use that time to build up your village and its defence.
What is a tribe, and why join one?
A tribe is an alliance of players: a shared forum, diplomacy, wars and defending each other. Only a tribe can win the world.
How can a world be won?
The tribe that holds at least 70% of all villages (unowned ones included) for 7 days in a row wins. You can follow the standings on the World tab of the ranking.
What if I'm away for a few days?
You can go on vacation, or hand your account to a fellow player with the sitter feature. Never share your password.
What is pre-registration?
Before a new world starts, the game master can open pre-registration. You can then sign up on the world list and choose the direction you would like to start in. You are notified at the start, and if you join on the first day, you get a place in the direction you chose.
How can I vote on the settings of a new world?
When the game master starts a poll, you get a notification and it also appears on the overview. Each account has one vote (accounts that already existed when the poll started); you can change it until the poll closes, and you see the result after it closes.
Why do I have to wait a moment when registering?
Against bots, your browser solves a short computing task while you type your name; you usually do not even notice it. JavaScript has to be enabled for this. No data is sent to a third party.
My family (or flatmates) share one internet connection and several of us play. Is that a problem?
No, as long as everyone plays their own account and the accounts do not help each other. Mark in the Settings that you share an internet connection: otherwise the game automatically bans accounts that connect from the same internet address all the time for days. When another account starts playing from your connection, the game warns you in a notification first.
I forgot my password. What now?
If your account has an e-mail address, request a link on the password reset page -- it is valid for one hour. Without an address, write to Support with your account name.
Where can I report a bug or a rule violation?
In the game there is a Report button on profiles and mail; bugs and questions go to Support.
How do I delete my account?
The Delete account page explains it; deletion is permanent.
